SPRAVATO® (Esketamine) Nasal Spray Treatment

If you’re living with treatment-resistant depression or major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts or behavior, and traditional medications haven’t provided relief, SPRAVATO® may offer a new path forward.

SPRAVATO® is the first FDA-approved nasal spray medication for adults with treatment-resistant depression and MDD with suicidal thoughts or behavior. Unlike traditional antidepressants, SPRAVATO® targets the brain’s NMDA receptors, potentially offering rapid symptom relief.

At Mental Serenity Psychiatric Services, PLLC, we are a REMS-certified clinic offering SPRAVATO® treatment in a safe, supportive, and medically supervised environment at our West Hartford, CT office.

In-Clinic Administration: SPRAVATO® is self-administered as a nasal spray under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
 

Monitoring: Each session includes a minimum of two hours of post-dose monitoring to ensure your safety and comfort.
 

Treatment Schedule: 

• Induction Phase (Weeks 1–4): Twice weekly
• Maintenance Phase (Weeks 5–8): Once weekly
• Long-Term Maintenance (Week 9 and beyond): Every 1–2 weeks, as needed
   

Your provider will tailor the treatment plan to your individual needs.

SPRAVATO® is not suitable for everyone. Before starting treatment, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine eligibility. Safety measures include:

Pre-Treatment Screening: Assessing medical history and current health status.
 

Post-Treatment Monitoring: Observing for potential side effects such as sedation or dissociation.
 

Transportation Requirement: Patients must arrange for safe transportation home after each session, as driving is not permitted until the next day.
