A Compassionate & Inclusive Approach
Sana Kalra is deeply committed to breaking the stigma around mental health and bridging care gaps for single parents, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other underserved communities. She creates a safe, affirming, and inclusive space where clients feel seen, valued, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
Sana is a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of experience in healthcare. Her transition from Registered Nurse to PMHNP reflects a lifelong passion for supporting others in their healing journeys, with a clinical approach rooted in empathy, respect, and client-centered care.
As a BIPOC provider of Indian heritage and the daughter of first-generation immigrant parents, Sana brings a deeply personal understanding of the cultural, societal, and generational dynamics that shape mental health. Raised in a family influenced by both Hinduism and Islam, she grew up navigating the intersecting expectations of two religious traditions—each carrying its own set of values, beliefs, and pressures. Over time, she forged her own spiritual path, grounded in personal truth, curiosity, and compassion. This journey gave her insight into the powerful impact of faith, identity, and gender on mental and emotional well-being—particularly for women in communities where questioning norms can be isolating. Because of this, Sana is especially committed to providing a nonjudgmental space where all individuals—regardless of their faith, beliefs, or background—feel respected, welcomed, and safe to be themselves.
As a woman of color, she has personally experienced the weight of cultural and religious expectations that often silence vulnerability and stigmatize mental health. These lived experiences—shaped by navigating generational trauma, societal pressures, and the ongoing work of personal healing—have deeply informed her empathy and her commitment to inclusive, affirming care.
Sana is a proud single parent of four children who identify as both Indian and African American. Her journey of resilience, identity exploration, and growth is at the heart of her professional mission: to create a safe, empowering space where others can do the same.
She believes that mental health care must be culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and rooted in mutual trust, collaboration, and compassion. Her practice is a safe haven for people from all walks of life—especially BIPOC individuals, LGBTQIA+ communities, single parents, immigrants, and anyone who has felt unseen or marginalized in traditional care settings.
Blending clinical expertise with authenticity and heart, Sana honors the whole person in all their complexity. Through her work, she seeks to uplift and affirm each client’s truth, helping them reclaim their story, reconnect with their power, and move toward a life of intention, self-acceptance, and healing.
Sana is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in integrative and psychedelic medicine. She is certified in Ketamine and Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy through the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI) and is currently completing a fellowship in Functional and Integrative Psychiatry with Psychiatry Redefined.
In addition to her psychiatric specialization, Sana is pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Alabama-Birmingham and working toward certification as an Adult-Gerontologic Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP). These advanced studies reflect her commitment to whole-person, lifespan-oriented care that bridges mind and body.
At Mental Serenity Psychiatric Services, Sana provides personalized, evidence-based treatment that moves beyond traditional medication management. Her approach is rooted in the principles of integrative psychiatry and trauma-informed care, combining:
She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and treatment-resistant conditions, offering a compassionate and empowering alternative for those who haven’t found relief through conventional care alone.
With a deep respect for each person's autonomy, identity, and cultural background, Sana fosters a safe and inclusive healing space—one where clients can explore transformation grounded in both science and soul.

Grounded in Empathy, Guided by Respect
Wilson’s philosophy remains grounded in empathy, drawing from his experiences in understanding the complexity of mental health issues, particularly within vulnerable populations. As a PMHNP, he recognizes that everyone brings unique life experiences and values the dignity and autonomy of each individual he encounters. He approaches care with cultural humility and respect for diversity, ensuring that his treatment strategies are culturally sensitive and individualized.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a solid background in behavioral health nursing, my philosophy is centered around the belief that mental health care is a vital, compassionate, and individualized journey. Having witnessed firsthand the profound impact of mental health on all aspects of an individual’s life, I commit myself to providing holistic care that promotes healing, empowerment, and growth in my patients. As a PMHNP, I believe that mental health remains an integral part of overall well-being.
My journey in behavioral health nursing has granted me valuable insights into the complexities of mental health care, particularly in how these challenges affect individuals and their families on a profound level. Ultimately, my goal as a PMHNP is to guide individuals toward mental wellness through compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered approaches. By combining my professional expertise in behavioral health nursing with a personal commitment to reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where patients can heal, grow, and regain control over their mental health and their lives.
Furthermore, I am committed to ongoing learning and professional growth to provide the highest standard of care through a blend of pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions aimed to improve quality of life and to reduce stigma around mental health.
Throughout my nursing career, I have seen the vital role that early intervention, comprehensive assessments, and a collaborative care approach play in addressing not only the biological aspects of mental health but also the emotional, social, and cultural factors that influence an individual's well-being.
As a provider, I believe in a patient-centered approach that recognizes the unique needs of each individual. My role is to listen actively, offer evidence-based interventions, and work alongside my patients to empower them in managing their mental health challenges.
