Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
As a psychiatric provider, I am excited to announce that we will soon be offering Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) services in collaboration with experienced therapists across New York (NY), Connecticut (CT), Rhode Island (RI), and soon, Colorado (CO). This approach combines the therapeutic potential of ketamine with psychotherapy to help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive and transformative setting.
We hope to provide you with referrals for KAP providers within these states that are assessable and able to meet you specific needs. Meanwhile, we will will conduct your psychiatric evaluation, prescribe and manage your current medications if necessary, and continue follow-up.
Ketamine and Its Benefits
Ketamine has gained recognition in the field of mental health for its rapid-acting antidepressant effects. It has shown promise in treating a variety of conditions, including treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and anxiety disorders. Unlike traditional antidepressants that can take weeks to show effects, ketamine can provide relief within hours or days, making it a valuable option for individuals struggling with severe and persistent symptoms. This can be more beneficial for individuals who have attempted many medication trials and still experiences severe symptoms.
KAP allows clients to access a state of enhanced openness and introspection during therapy sessions, facilitating deep emotional processing and healing. Under the guidance of trained therapists, clients can explore challenging feelings and gain new perspectives, helping to unlock potential pathways for recovery.
Our practice is dedicated to making KAP accessible to clients in collaboration with KAP trained therapists throughout NY, CT, RI, and soon in CO. We will offer comprehensive KAP intake assessments and ongoing progress monitoring. Once the initial evaluation is complete, clients will participate in their KAP sessions with one of our collaborating therapists in their area. This team-based approach ensures that clients will receive consistent support and care throughout their journey, with regular follow-up sessions to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Stay tuned for more information and feel free to reach out if you're interested in exploring Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy as a treatment option. We are here to support you every step of the way.
